DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

Scope of the Role:  The Director of Admissions manages the marketing process and leads and directs all aspects of the recruitment and interviewing process leading to the selection, enrollment and retention of the student body. This role reports to the Head of School and is responsible for the development and articulation of the admissions vision, procedures, structure and systems, in conjunction with appropriate board members and staff. Additionally, the Director of works in partnership with the Business Management office to coordinate the develop of enrollment contracts and financial aid awards. To be successful in this role, the Director of Admissions should have a background in early childhood education, the ability to communicate highly complex and often sensitive information, the ability to create and manage systems, be a dynamic public speaker, and have a flexible approach to work.

 

Experience Requirements:

· 3-5 years as an Admissions Director or in a high level admissions position

· Background in administration and/or admissions for both nursery and elementary schools

· Deep understanding of and experience executing progressive/co-constructive education approach

· Bachelors Degree in Education – early childhood or primary education a plus

· Experience with establishing admissions procedures and policies for a progressive independent school

· Strong public speaking experience

Knowledge and Skills: Strong administration, and communications experience including the ability to communicate highly complex and often sensitive information; strong communication and inter-personal skills; teaching experience and administration experience with a new school a plus; must be fun, creative, flexible, and be able to flourish within fast paced/busy environment with ever changing priorities.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Oversee and coordinate admissions activities of the school for institutional advancement and enrollment including the complete admissions cycle.

2. Oversee, develop and manage admissions policies and procedures. 

3. Develop marketing initiatives to support admissions/enrollment that reflect the Blue School Brand and values.

4. Partner with the Business Management office to manage and develop enrollment contracts.

5. Serve as a member of the financial aid committee

6. Coordinate parent initiatives to support communitu building and enrollment/admissions needs

7. Partner with departmental leaders to build a cohesive administrative team in order to develop a healthy school culture and integrated administrative initiatives.  Support school initiatives as needed.

PART-TIME SPANISH TEACHER

We are currently seeking a part-time Spanish instructor to join our team of creative and passionate educators.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years experience teaching Spanish to children ages five through nine, preferably in a school setting.  A teaching degree is not required, but is preferred.  This position requires a high energy level, the ability to independently create curriculum, the ability to work in collaboration with classroom teaching teams, and a strong arts background.
